✧Other Friendly Faces✧

✧Kazuha✧-member of the literature club and in the same English class as Xingqiu. He specializes in poetry, mainly haikus and free verses.

✧Furina✧-President of the drama club and usually directs school plays. When she was younger, she was a successful child actress, though due to losing passion for the art, she stepped back and decided to focus on her director career.

✧Chiori✧-a member of the textile and drama club. Chiori is usually in charge of costume design for school productions. She runs a fairly successful mini-business where she sells her own designs, and she has many fashion companies begging for her to work for them, though she expresses no interest in working for someone else's brand.

✧Freminet✧-part of the swim team and Lyney and Lynette's younger brother. Like his sister, he's quiet and reserved, but a good listener. The two of you haven't talked much, but you do know about his love for the ocean and his soft spot for penguins.

✧Yun Jin✧-member of the music club and choir. She is also part of the Yun Han opera troupe, and has quickly risen to fame due to her starring role in the critically acclaimed musical: "The Divine Damsel of Devastation".

✧Eula✧-Captain of the dance team and student council vice-president. She's cold, harsh, and brutally honest (and holds a grudge for just about anything) and she doesn't have the best reputation due to that, but her talent and work ethic (almost) makes up for all that.

-in case you're wondering why some of these r so short, it's cuz these guys r just side characters, but i wanted to make some profiles for them

Propaganda for Hiccup and Toothless: "They literally read each others minds, they're so in sync, they trust each other so much"

Propaganda for Tsumugi and Tasuku: "they're childhood friends who started acting together in school! acting requires lots of trust in your fellow co-stars like for example if they mess up or forget a line you need to be able to cover for them and keep the show going. after years of acting they're very much in sync able to match each other's energy onstage during a performance. even the player character (default name: izumi) notes in her narration that these two have a special connection onstage that no one else in their theatre company has bc of their years of acting together <3"

Propaganda for Xingqiu and Chongyun: "They have several matching design elements that balance each other out, with Xingqiu being associated with dark blue and black while Chongyun is associated with light blue and white. Chongyun uses the ice element, while Xingqiu uses the water element, which makes them formidable (or at least troublesome, since they freeze the enemies constantly) in a team together in game. They're commonly seen or mentioned together, and while Chongyun occasionally complains about Xingqiu's pranks, they get along well enough that an entire section of Chongyun's character story (in his profile) is dedicated to his friendship with Xingqiu, and vice versa with Xingqiu's story. Chongyun is a very earnest and genuine person, while Xingqiu is a bit wily and a prankster - despite this, Chongyun trusts him over and over again, despite the trouble that Xingqiu's pranks often cause for him. sorry for submitting genshin and writing a whole wall of text lol"

I've been obsessed with this show and them for so many years. They're my favourite and I love them so so much."

Propaganda for Lio and Galo: "First, the obvious- they literally co-pilot a mech during the movie, and them being in sync is required for it to function: the more they understand each other, the better they fight. Also, they're very effective foils: The ice-cold arsonist and the burning-hot firefighter, who are also (as close to canonically as Studio Trigger can get) in gay love."

folks, let me take you on the little adventure I just had.

so Ghost’s US tour dates came out. the show in Providence, RI, at the Dunkin Donuts Center on September 12th, would be the closest to me. so I scroll down to check the presale tickets, right?

instead of being listed at the Dunkin Donuts Center, it simply says “Dunkin’, Centreville, VA”. ‘okay,’ I think. ‘maybe they just made a little mistake.’ I go to check the ticket site, and it says the same thing, this time with an address. it occurs to me to check said address (Dunkin’, 14631 Lee Hwy, Centreville, VA, 20121)

Mina is a POLY BISEXUAL ICON and is in love with Lucy AND Jonathan. when we get in a little later and see Mina and Jonathan actually interacting in person you will understand. they are head over heels for each other and it is so cute. 

Lucy is also poly and bisexual. she literally has a line in a few days that’s the most hasn’t-realized-she’s-poly shit ever.

Okay my favorite character changes alot but id say my consistent favorite is probably venti! (he may or may not have been part of my gay awakening)

Kokomi:I can see why you like her! Personally shes just not one of my favs because while her design is cute and i like her, as a character shes just not that interesting if that makes sense?

Neuvi:I love him too! Hes a really well written character and i adore his design

Childe:I can see why you dislike him, no joke he used to be one of my least favourites, he still annoys me but also i kinda love him? little well written ginger menace (also i want him to be my older brother)

Kaeya:I actually got into genshin because of kaeya but we ignore that....again, from the travellers perspective, hes annoying, hes a little bitch, and as we, the players, have the travellers perspective we see him that way too. However, kaeya is also just a genuinely fascinating, well written character for so many reasons

Xingyun: i may be biased as im gay, xingqiu is one of my favorite characters, and i mained chongyun for a while but i adore this ship, 11/10, perfection.

Cynonari: im actually not biased on this one, they're just cute as fuck

Fontaine:As fontaine is rather new i still havent gotten used to its vibes but i do really like it

Mondstadt:hands down my favorite nation, its so nostalgic and just feels so cozy and all the characters are amazing and just i love mondstadt okay

Ei:agree to disagree on this one, shes one of my favorite characters actually, i can see why youd find her boring but she does have a personality its just not....loud if that makes sense? there are characters who have loud personalities, by that i dont meen energetic or something i rather mean their personality is easy to notice, easy to gather maybe even just by looking at them, and subsequently there are characters with quieter personalities, idk does that make sense? (also i was a raiden main for like alot of my time playing genshin so i am kinda biased)

Hey yall, after a long long time I’m back with a brand new piece!!! So I hope you enjoy some Cool Kidz 2.0′s shenanigans. The context behind this one is that I’m sure Xingqiu sneaks out of his house to go adventuring with the rest of the team, it just so happens that this time they got busted by his older brother.

Also Xingqiu’s gege’s design is my own, but the poor man remains nameless for now, so if any of you have sugestions I’m more than open to them. Is that or me and @hiyakuhoodlum will keep calling him gege forever, or even worse, I name him and trust me, we don’t want that.

Also I feel compeled to let you know that my favorite Jolly Troll, @hiyakuhoodlum nemed this piece “Prison Break: Xingqiu's Sneakery” and I loved the name too much to just not use it, it would be sacrilegious.

Summary: Chongyun is a regular customer at Xingqiu’s café. They were childhood friends but Chongyun has seemingly forgotten him. Xingqiu is determined to make him remember without telling him directly. (XingYun, Café AU)

“Xingqiu, why are you pouring espresso into a soup bowl?” Xu asked hesitantly. He doubted that he heard his question because he was focused on swirling the milk in the latte. They had worked together long enough for him to know that Xingqiu often had a reason behind his actions, no matter how unconventional he could be. He looked over his shoulder to see his latte art.

When he peered into the bowl, he quickly realized why Xingqiu had chosen to use a bowl rather than a cup. He wrote a message inside the latte and Xu could easily guess who he made the drink for. The message couldn’t fit within a small mug. Xingqiu finished forming the foam into the shape of a ghost and he grinned to himself.

He placed the cup onto the tray that he had already prepared with the customer’s order. Xingqiu was tempted to run to Chongyun’s table to give him the drink but he reminded himself that he couldn’t risk disturbing the delicate latte art. He walked as quickly as he dared with the tray balanced in his hand. As he pictured Chongyun’s reaction to the message, Xingqiu smiled to himself. He was certain that his latest plan would succeed.

“Your order, my liege.” Xingqiu stopped beside Chongyun’s table. He felt a mixture of excitement and nervous butterflies but he hid both under a confident smile. He placed his order onto the table and said, “Here is your usual: a chicken salad sandwich and a parfait. I added a latte and it’s on the house. I’ve been practising my latte art and I thought it was a shame to simply throw it out. Please, enjoy it.”

“Thank you. I won’t be able to drink the coffee until it cools though.” Chongyun smiled up at him and the slight tilt of his lips softened his face. He had always worn his emotions on his sleeve and Xingqiu was drawn to his openness. He watched his expression as he waited for him to read the message in the bowl. Finally, Chongyun said: “This is a cute ghost. Are these exorcist symbols? I don’t recognize them.”

“That’s just smoke. Ghosts are always surrounded by a menacing aura. As an exorcist, you must learn the signs a ghost is nearby.” Xingqiu lied with a shaky laugh. A part of him wanted to yell in frustration but he stopped himself. “It looks like I still need to practise making latte art. Oh, it looks like my brother is calling for my help. Please enjoy your meal, Yun.”

Another plan failed. Xingqiu retreated behind the counter again and his shoulders slumped. He didn’t want to linger on his disappointment so he searched for something to distract himself. He organized the countertop and his eyes fell onto a sketch Albedo had left behind. Earlier that day, he asked Albedo to create a design he could use for latte art. Above the drawing of a ghost was Xingqiu’s messy handwriting. We used to hunt ghosts together when we were kids.

He hoped Chongyun would remember him once he read the message.

They knew each other when they were seven years old and they were best friends. Unfortunately, Chongyun’s family moved to the countryside where he could train to be an exorcist. They tried to stay friends but the distance made it difficult and they eventually lost touch. Years had passed and Xingqiu didn’t expect to see Chongyun in Liyue again.

The previous week, Chongyun walked into the café Xingqiu’s family owned. He recognized him immediately despite how age had changed him. Chongyun had unique blue eyes that he could never forget. Each morning, he would visit the café before he left for his commissions. Xingqiu was excited to speak with him again and he hoped they would be able to be close friends again.

He felt disappointed when Chongyun barely spoke to him and he acted as if they were strangers. Had Chongyun forgotten about him? He could easily know the answer if he asked him whether he remembered him but his pride would let him. Xingqiu decided he would play small tricks on him that would remind him of their childhood friendship.

“You know, you should tell Chongyun.” His brother’s voice pulled Chongyun out of his thoughts. Xingqiu quickly shoved the sketch into his pocket and out of his brother’s sight. From his small grin, he knew that he already saw it. “For someone so smart, you’re struggling with something so simple. Maybe you’re too nervous because he’s your first crush.”

“You’ve clearly read the situation wrong, GeGe.” Xingqiu insisted but his blush betrayed the truth. He unconsciously fiddled with the earring he often wore. Chongyun had gifted him the earring because it matched the friendship tassel he wore on his vision.

He had a childish crush on him when they were young. He believed those feelings faded with distance but they returned with Chongyun. A part of his frustration with him forgetting him was his unresolved feelings. Did Chongyun only see him as a friend? With that question lingering in his mind, Xingqiu pushed away from the counter and said: “I’m going to buy chili flakes and test a new recipe.”

“Teenagers these days.” His brother laughed after him and shook his head.

“I’ll just have water for now. I’m waiting for Aether to come before I order.” Chongyun spoke with Xingqiu’s brother but it was obvious that his attention was elsewhere. He glanced around the café and said, “Is Xingqiu not working today? I hope he’s not overworking himself. His letter said he’s managing the Guild’s silk trade. Now, he also runs the café too. I was hoping we could go on adventures with him after my training ended.”

“Xingqiu is only working here temporarily while we’re training the staff. He should have more free time soon.” His brother encouraged him. He knew that Chongyun remembered Xingqiu for the past few days yet he kept it a secret. He was curious to see who would realize the misunderstanding first. “You should invite him to go on a commission with you. He still sneaks off sometimes and I’ll feel better knowing he’s with you. I’m sure Xingqiu will be happy to go on commissions with you too.”

“I don’t want to bother him. The staff might think he’s unprofessional because he talks with his friend during shifts.” Chongyun was born with an abundance of yang energy and he was accustomed to restraining himself to control it. Yet, there was a hint of longing in his voice. He wasn’t able to see him during his training and he missed Xingqiu’s unrestrained laughter. He wouldn’t mind if he tried to prank him again as long as he could see him smile afterwards.

“You’re just worried about the staff judging Xingqiu? You should know he doesn’t care about things like that so you don’t have to act so formal with him in the café.” He said. Their conversation was interrupted when they heard the bell ring over the door. Xingqiu entered the café with paper bags in his arms. His brother noticed how Chongyun’s gaze followed Xingqiu as he walked to the kitchen.

Chongyun only pulled his gaze away from Xingqiu when his brother spoke. “I’ll get your water.”

After he poured a glass of water for Chongyun, he entered the kitchen to help Xingqiu unpacked the food. He found Xingqiu sprinkling chili flakes over a salad and he could easily guess who it was meant for. He heard his brother open the door and he looked up from his bowl. “Did Chongyun order yet? I’ll cook and take it to him.”

“Chongyun will be eating with Aether today so he’s going to order when he comes.”

“Aether? Chongyun told me he met someone with that name at a haunted tourist trap.”

“Jealous?” At his brother’s teasing, Xingqiu’s face became bright red. Why must his brother be so perspective at all the wrong times?

“What do I have to be jealous about? Chongyun is just a friend.” He fumbled over a denial until he turned away from him and his eyes fell onto the spicy salad he made. Xingqiu took the bowl and he thrust it into his brother’s hands. “I made this for you. You’re working a double shift so you need your energy. I need to go help Xu with the inventory.”

With that excuse, Xingqiu rushed out of the kitchen. He was glad that his brother didn’t follow him or try to push the issue further. A part of him knew that his brother was right and he should speak with Chongyun directly. Xingqiu was worried that he would tell him that their friendship meant much more to him than Chongyun.

As he debated what he should do next, he twirled his long earring around his finger. An idea came to him and he took off the jewellery. If his next plan didn’t work, then he would ask Chongyun if he remembered him. He tucked the earring into the folds of his apron and he walked to his table.

“Are you ready to order, Yun?” Xingqiu asked with a polite smile.

“I’m just waiting for someone before I— Xingqiu, you’re not wearing your earring. Did something happen to it?” It was rare to see Xingqiu without his earring and Chongyun couldn’t help but stare. Xingqiu subtly took his earring from his apron and he dropped it in the booth next to Chongyun. He should notice the earring once he stood. When he returned the earring to him, they would be able to talk properly.

“Oh, I think it must’ve dropped when I was working. I was planning to search for it after the café closes. Hopefully, it’s somewhere in the kitchen or else someone might take it. That earring is important to me.” His last line wasn’t a lie. “We’re almost closing so I hope your friend comes soon.”

“Xu, did you see an earring while you were cleaning table seven?” Xingqiu frantically searched the cushions of the booth. After Chongyun finished eating with his friend, he left without speaking to him. He assumed that he didn’t find the jewellery he placed beside him. However, when he went to the booth, he couldn’t find it. He knew Chongyun wasn’t the type of person to take the earring and pawn it. He looked beneath the table and said, “No one sat here after him. It should be here.”

“This earring?” Chongyun’s voice surprised Xingqiu and he jumped a little. His head struck the table and he groaned to himself. He felt a warm hand on his hair and he turned to find Chongyun kneeling next to him. He reached beneath the table so he could run his hand through his hair and search for a bump. With his cyro vision, he cooled his hand and soothed the pain. “Are you okay, Qiu?”

“Qiu?” He repeated the nickname he called him when they were children. “You do remember me! Why didn’t you say anything sooner?”

Confusion crossed Chongyun’s face and he asked, “Why would you think that I forgot my best friend?”

“Even though you ate here every day for the past week, you rarely talked to me. We haven’t seen each other in years and most people would be excited to see their best friend again. For our reunion, I imagined you sitting across the table from me and telling me what happened while you were gone.” Xingqiu told him. Chongyun’s hand dropped from his hair and he felt a little disappointed.

Then, Chongyun held his hand between them to help Xingqiu out from beneath the table. He placed his fingers in his palm and he noticed how his hands had changed while they were apart. They were larger with small scars on his fingers. His warmth was the same though. Chongyun gently squeezed his hand and pulled him forward. “I imagined the same thing. Though, I was sitting in the booth next to you instead of across the table. You were working and I didn’t want to get in the way.”

As he explained the reason why he acted so distant, Xingqiu realized he had misunderstood him. He felt a little guilty that he assumed he had forgotten him. He wished he had set aside his pride and simply spoke with him. Once they were standing in front of each other, he threw himself into Chongyun and he wrapped his arms around his neck. He pouted up at him. “I missed you.”

“I missed you too.” Chongyun whispered back to him. His brother told him that Xingqiu would have more free time in a week and he thought he could wait. After all, he waited years to see him again while he was training in the mountains. He didn’t expect the longing he felt. “Coffee is a little bitter for my taste and the only reason I ate here every day was to see you.”

His words made Xingqiu blush and he wondered how Chongyun could be so oblivious of his own charm. He was direct and honest with his feelings. Xingqiu started to fiddle with his earring but he was reminded that it was gone. He grinned up at Chongyun and said: “Will you be a dear and help me put on my earring again, Yun?”

He looked up at him with expectant, amber eyes. While he didn’t say a word, his gaze compelled Chongyun to nod. He tenderly brushed his hair aside and he tucked it behind his ear. He leaned close as he returned the jewellery to its rightful place. His hand lingered on his neck for a moment. He wanted to tell Xingqiu that he thought he was beautiful but he held himself back. Instead, he said: “Be careful to not lose it again.”

on bennett’s birthday, lumine teased him like they weren’t going to celebrate it because it wasn’t *actually* the 29th.

when aether and lumine reconnect and move on to travel even more worlds in the future (which will happen. they will make up), xingqiu writes a story about her/their adventures. it becomes a bestseller.

similarly, venti writes her a song that becomes popular all throughout teyvat.

xingqiu writes another book after lumine leaves about his time spent adventuring together with them, all the crazy situations he’d been in and the wild things they’d seen.

lumine doesn’t read either of these books until she returns about a decade later, to which she flips open the first page, reads the first few words, then smirks and looks up at xingqiu with a smug “so you think i’m a hero, huh?”

sleep wise: chongyun sleepwalks, xingqiu sleep talks. bennett kicks violently. lumine just has nightmares (oops)

on nightmares, though: sometimes when it gets bad and she’ll wake up screaming, xingqiu, chongyun, and bennett will all lay around her and help her fall back asleep.

venti comes to xiao when lumine leaves mondstadt to travel on to liyue and tells him to keep her safe; it’s the first time xiao’s ever seen him serious.

chongyun being the youngest even by a few months connects him on a different level to gen z humor; sometimes he says the most random, absurd or concerning shit that gets eyebrows from the rest of the team

lumine didn’t think chongyun was anything special when they first met, but then she saw him fighting and instantly became entranced by his abilities.

he’d mastered the ability to use his claymore as a center of gravity from lots of hard work and training; he’s practically flipping in the air, the weapon using him as extension rather than he himself wielding it.

it’s amazing. lumine’s never seen anything like it. she goes from “pfft okay let’s see this kid” to “oh wow... you... you’re beautiful” in Seconds

a boy once had a crush on lumine in a world they’d travelled to long before. aether’s overprotective big brother instincts had kicked in and the memory is still fond in the back of her mind; she wonders how he’d react to the current lumiharem that has more or less formed within teyvat. 

travelling to inazuma becomes too dangerous to bring any of her previous teammates along, so considering lumine doesn’t have a vision, she goes by herself. 

in inazuma she meets kazuha (i am an avid kazlumi shipper, read to learn how, somehow, to be loved myself) where they start travelling together as a two person team.

eventually sayu joins; picture kazuha and lumine each holding one of her hands as she walks between them, the two of them swinging her back and forth.

sayu’s design implies she’s a tired kind of character, so she often sleeps. kazuha the workaholic and lumine the go-getter are suddenly introduced to the concept of afternoon naps.

kazuha and lumine, sword users, are amazed by how well sayu wields a giant claymore.

again, kazuha and lumine are very one-track minded, often not stopping to sleep, eat, or take care of themselves until their task is completed. sayu’s added presence makes them more self aware, stopping for full meals or naps or doing things a bit less recklessly.

lumine leaves for a few months for inazuma and when she comes back with a boyfriend and adoptive daughter bennett, xingqiu and chongyun are like: 🧍🧍🧍

in other words, bennett LOVES sayu. he takes her toy shopping and lets her ride on his shoulders to see above the crowd, or builds her a little doll out of sticks and windwheel asters he spent hours making. 

(he’s also determined to be the favorite.)

chongyun is awkward around kids but they’re still drawn to him, for whatever reason. sayu likes seeing the way his cryo vision works because it reminds her of ayaka.

xingqiu tries his hardest to get sayu to like him but she really just Does Not, for whatever reason. 

when xingqiu and sayu first meet, he holds out his hand in a handshake for her to take (because he has no other grasp of how to interact with people if not formally) and she starts trembling.

lumine ushers sayu away from him and xingqiu is like what did i Do

(on a sadder note: lumine comes back from inazuma with a literal Family and xiao, who had been pining for her the whole time she’d been gone, is crushed upon the sight of her return.)

lumine likes to braid both sayu and kazuha’s hair because it reminds her of how she used to do it for aether.

I want him to reconcile with Diluc. he is everything I love in character design and personality. I want to know everything about him. also his lore fascinates me. he is possibly one of my favorite characters of all time. I would enter a lavender marriage with this man.

wiki reminds me his name is albedo but thats dumb. overall he looks pretty cool but he suffers from the Shota Shorts penalty of -2 points, made worse by whatever that triangle thing is supposed to be. His cute little arm bangle has no use except aesthetics which i approve of. The shota shorts and high boots combo don't even show the most dangerous organ of humanity known as “skin”. overall pretty solid tho 7/10

Diluc

looks low-key like my fave from the silmarillion but apparently has the personality and storyline of batman if batman had a drunk alcoholic pirate brother he was tsun for. his outfit is very final fantasy 8 what with the gratuitous numbers of chains and belts, which i approve of on principle. simple yet stylish, easy to replace as well. appropriate for work or vigilantism both. also it helps he looks like my fave. 8/10

i dont even know where to START with him. he screams himbo with every accessory. he put ankle bracelets over his boots. what is even up with his cape thing. looks so normal on the bottom but its all party on the top. i know for a fact his eyepatch is fake too. he probably went shopping and put on whatever he thought would look most impressive, but his idea of impressive is somewhere between “final fantasy extra” and “beach fashion.” also cleavage, can’t forget that. 10/10 for baffling me utterly.

venti looks like a bad attempt to recall what medieval jesters looked like but with a child friendly pallet that evoked nature’s simple innocence at a glance, which may be the point but makes me want to cover my eyes in second hand embarrassment. -2 points for shota shorts in addition to whatever disaster the rest of his outfit is. his hair is the best part of this outfit and he knows it. 2/10 bc im soft for the inside of his cape and also his harp.

this guy’s design slaps. i have zero complaints. he probably rolled out of bed dressed like he’s on a runway. you look at him and you know he either fucks or considers it beneath him. my friend insists he’s actually a grandpa in personality with the speech patterns of a dictionary, but my brief foray into the genshin ao3 reveals he really loves... making eggs with chili, tortillas, and avocado :D. anyway infinity/10

the reason this exists. i sent “he looks like a dude bro that went beyond shorts and ill-fitting shirts“ to my friend and they pleaded with me to stop because it was true. kinda bland, the white suit is meh, that weird sliver of abdomen showing reeks of desperation for someone to want to open his shirt the rest of the way and passionately show him there’s more to life than whatever his job is. i bet his sword is overcompensating. he could put more effort into his clothes, especially if fandom is going to pair him up with total bombshell earth gramps. 1/10 if im messing with my friend, but 3/10 otherwise

something about his outfit slowly kills me every time i look at him. its the excessively long upper thighs, think. they just aren’t proportionate. his coat is fine and i even like it, but even just looking at the disaster that’s everything below his waist... no..... after venti this is the most egregious example of the shota shorts curse. 4/10 because whoever dressed him in the morning at least knew  to insist on a good coat.

proof you don’t need shota shorts to be a shota. however, in direct contrast to coat-and-legs up above, i have issues with his entire upper body. whats even with the asymmetric floating bangle...the too large asymmetric cut goodie... the turtle-neck that wasn't... he almost, ALMOST looked cool and is more disappointing for failing to meet expectations. 7/10 for breaking away from the strict societal standards imposed on shota fashion
